LP to CD Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Will you be returning my LP with the CD that you create?
A. Yes we will. This place would fill up pretty fast if we did not return everything to a customer.
Q. Where is LP-to-CD.com located?
A. Our office is located just north of  San Francisco, in Santa Rosa, California.
Q. I'm local, may I come to drop off my LPs and pick them up when you are finished?
A. Yes you may, but we suggest that you contact us before you come. We can also supply driving directions to our location.
Q. I have quite a large quantity of LPs that i would like converted to CD. Can you offer a discount for large orders?
A. Yes we would. Please call us on our 800 number (800-840-6252) to discuss pricing.
Q. Must I pay ahead, or can you invoice me when the job is complete?
A. No need to pay in advance.   Send us your  order, and we will invoice you when the job is completed.
Q. How do I pay for the order?
A. We accept al Major Credit Cards, Checks, Money orders and PayPal
Q. How long will it take to complete my order?
A. Regular size orders of 10 or fewer LPs generally completed in 4  to 5  business days.
Q. What can you say about the quality of the CD that you produce?
A. We only use the best state-of-the-art Audio equipment and professional quality software. This has created a high quality product for over 3,000 customers since January, 2001. You may also want to look over the customer's testimonials on this web site. We receive great customer feedback virtually every day. In fact, over 25% of our business is repeats and referrals.
Q. Will our LPs be sent somewhere else to be processed?
A. No, they will not leave LPtoCD / Audio-Restorations until the completed product is shipped back to you.
Q. Is this a sideline or full time business for you?
A. This is not not a sideline, or part-time job for us. We work at it fulltime, and then some.
Q. Is this Legal?
A. Yes, it is. A fair use copy for your own use is legal if you or your organization is the owner of the LP. However if you intend to sell the CD(s) that we produce to someone else, on ebay or somewhere else, that is not legal. We do not seek or accept any illegal requests. The LP-to-CD transfers that we do are for your own personal use only.
Q. My LP is quite worn and has some scratches. Can you repair these problems on the CD?
A. We try but there is only so much we can do when the LP has had a lot of use and wear.
Q. How should I package these LPs to send to you?
A. Yes we do. We suggest you consider shipping the LPs to us via any of the following: UPS, Fedex, DHL, US Postal Service Priority Mail.
Q. Do you have any recommendation as to how we ship them to you?
A. We recommend that you wrap them in bubble wrap and use a good quality shipping box. Also professional shipping stores do a great job of packing items like valuable LPs.
Q. Is there an inexpensive way to send the LPs to you?
A. The least expensive way that we are aware of to ship to us is via the US Postal Sevices' Media Mail. But you should be aware that sometimes these shipments can take one to two weeks to reach us.
Q. How do you ship the LPs and CDs back to me?
A. Your order is shipped back to you via UPS or USPS priority mail.
Q. Do you offer " sound restoration" ?
A. Yes, we do, but be aware that this can only reduce some background hiss and noise. It cannot remove background noise that is a part of the original material that was recorded. We use sophisticated software to do this but only utilize this feature when requested by the customer because virtually all " sound restoration" will affect the quality of the original sound to some degree.
